| About the Owner A veteran of 40+ years of Youth Ministry, Chuck Gartman became the Youth Ministry Professor at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX, in the Fall of 2002. He along with 4 other Texas Youth Ministers were responsible in helping to start the Youth Ministry Program at Howard Payne back in the 80's. IN the Fall of 2003, HPU began offering a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Youth Ministry. Now, Howard Payne offers a Master of Arts Degree in Youth Ministry, which began in the Fall of 2006.
Chuck has served churches in Texas and Tennessee as Youth Minister, and was Minister of Education and Staff Coordinator at FBC-Conroe, TX, before moving to the Nashville area to work for LifeWay Christian Resources. After a successful career at LifeWay in the Youth Sunday School and Youth Ministry area, Chuck started "Go To" Youth Ministry, Inc, in September of 2001.
Beginning in January, 2005, Chuck assumed the position of Director of Student Ministries at First Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX, a church with a long and strong history of Youth Ministry. In February 2009, he became the Associate Pastor for Leadership Development. "Go To" Youth Ministry will continue its strong work with Contract Consultants from all over the country providing excellent leadership in conferencing and consulting in all areas of Church Leadership.
Chuck and his wife, Connie, have three grown daughters, one granddaughter, and two grandsons. Brandie, his oldest, is the General Manager of Amerigo Restaurant in Nashville, TN. His middle daughter, Brittany Tackett, lives in Nashville as well. Brooklyn, the youngest, completed her Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Texas in San Antonio and is transitioning to the Northwest to work for the Veterans Administration in Southwest Oregon.
